FLOC is excited to partner with the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center in Congress Heights to offer reading tutoring to elementary school students in ward 8 this school year. But we need your help! This one-on-one Saturday tutoring program helps elementary schoolers achieve grade-level competency in reading. In just 22 hours of tutoring, students improve an average of 1 year in competency while gaining confidence in their abilities. Each new tutor allows us to impact the life of one more child. Training in our structured curriculum and ongoing support from professional staff are provided, so no experience is necessary. The commitment is only 2.5 hours once a week for the school year, from 10:15am-12:45pm on Saturday mornings at 701 Mississippi Avenue SE. Free parking is available onsite!
