On Friday, October 25th the National Academy of Education, in partnership with the Graduate School of Education and Human Development of the George Washington University, will release a report on evaluation of teacher preparation programs. This report was made possible with funding from the National Science Foundation. The session, which will take place during NAEd's Annual Meeting, is scheduled for 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at the George Washington University (Marvin Center, 800 21 St., NW).

Bringing together key leaders and stakeholders for a lively discussion around improving the evaluation of teacher preparation programs, this session will address questions such as:

• What is known about the relative effectiveness of different public, private, and mixed approaches to evaluating teacher preparation programs?
  
• How well do different existing or potential methods align with the multiple intended uses of evaluation results?
  
• What are the most important principles for guiding the design and implementation of new evaluation systems?
  
• How can designers of evaluation systems and policy makers benefit from the new report?
