Ray:
I don’t know what happened (technical?) on your last broadcasting day,
but I missed your last show and missed your voice.
Most fortunately, I’ve had the pleasure to hear your show for 30 years, and
ALWAYS enjoyed them; as I have said to you before, your contribution to
bluegrass is immeasurable. It is beyond comprehension…. and for so many
years! It is something to be proud of, and I am touched and awed by your
lifetime of achievement, and contribution to bluegrass, as it has expanded in
breath and depth.
Thanks for all the good music (especially Charlie Moore), and all the great stories,
all so rich and so personally related; those stories have made me feel so much closer
to bluegrass (and you!), and all the folks involved through the decades.
As you, I miss all the artists that were part of our lives, and have crossed over Jordan. And, I honor you for keeping their music alive. You are a loyal friend!
I hope to see you down the road, and will miss your broadcasts, and your voice.
From my heart, thanks for everything! (Also, my best to Nona.)
