[YEP-DC] PAID Internship: Education Development Center (EDC)

 

Organizational Overview

The International Division at EDC seeks an intern to work directly with the Latin American and Caribbean region's program English for Latin America (ELA), which was launched last year in Colombia: http://www.edc.org/newsroom/announcements/edc_launch_english_instruction_program_latin_america

EDC's mission is to create learning opportunities for people around the world, empowering them to pursue healthier, more productive lives. A global nonprofit organization, we work with public-sector and private partners, harnessing the power of people and systems to improve education, health promotion and care, workforce preparation, communications technologies, and civic engagement.

EDC conducts 250 projects in 30 countries around the world.

 

 

Position Description

The successful candidate will:

 

-        Transcribe audio content in Spanish/English

-        Translate and write email correspondence

-        Maintain database of potential partners

-        Draft and edit promotional material

QUALIFICATIONS

1.     Must have fluent or native proficiency in Spanish (required) and/or Portuguese (preferred).

2.     Preferred master's student in ESL or related education field.

3.     Demonstrated experience with software packages including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and databases.

Commitment: 25-35h/per week
