[YEP-DC] Fwd: Spread the Word - 2014 Public Policy Leadership Conference at Harvard University

Dear friends and colleagues,

I am thrilled to be serving on the coordinating team for the 2014 Public Policy Leadership Conference (PPLC) at the Harvard Kennedy School. Each year, PPLC brings 50 aspiring public service leaders of underrepresented backgrounds to Harvard for a weekend training on how to pursue graduate study and careers in public policy.

Can you help us get the word out in advance of our November 15th application deadline? Below is more information about the conference goals, eligibility requirements, and benefits of participations. You can simply forward the below e-mail text to your networks. Students will need to visit our website to submit their online application.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach me via e-mail. Also, my apologies for any cross-postings!

Thanks!

 2014 Public Policy Leadership Conference

About PPLC

The Public Policy and Leadership Conference (PPLC) at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government was created to address the disproportionately low number of students from underrepresented groups enrolled in top graduate programs in public policy. This outreach focus stems from a core belief that communities in the U.S. and across the globe are best served by public managers, policy makers and civic leaders who accurately represent the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of their constituencies.

The 2014 PPLC will take place at Harvard from February 20-23, 2014, convening 50 college freshmen and sophomores from all over the country for intensive policy immersion. Student participants will have a unique opportunity to engage with Harvard Kennedy School faculty, graduate students, and administrators. Participants will also connect with fellowship programs and other graduate programs who share PPLC's commitment to diversity in public service.

Program Benefits:

  • Roundtrip travel
  • Hotel accommodations and conference meals
  • Substantive training on career planning, resume building, and leadership

Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in first or second year of study at a U.S. post-secondary institution
