I know many of you plan to be at the Red Fox Seldom Scene event tomorrow evening, and I certainly want to encourage folks to support the DCBU. My American Acoustic CD event has been planned for many months. It is a process, as many of you know, to arrange for a venue and find a time when key players are available. So, here we are, with my CD Release the same time as an important DCBU benefit.
I deliberately waited until the last minute to post this on the List Serve, so as not to compete with the DCBU event. Whether you go to the Red Fox or not, please contribute to DCBU! If you are not planning to go to the Red Fox Event, make your contribution on line or otherwise.
Then, stop by Capital City Cheesecake in Takoma Park, MD tomorrow evening from 5:30-7:30. Dede Wyland, Tara Linhardt, Tad Marks, Ira Gitlin, Lynn Healey, Mark Clifton, and several other special guests will perform a set with me at 6 followed by a jam/mix and mingle until 7:30. Admission is free.
If you cannot attend the event, tracks from the CD are available for listening on my web site, and you can buy a copy there. You may also download the CD or individual tracks from iTunes. The project was produced by Dede Wyland. She sings on some of the tracks. One track features dobro by Mike Auldridge. This is one of his last recordings. The aforementioned guests all recorded on tracks, as well (Mark is substituting for Mike Auldridge at the event). We worked on this for years, and are very proud of the results. I am sure you will enjoy it.
Hope you can make it to one of these events tomorrow. Here is the Facebook link to my CD Release Event:
