Marketing and Communications Manager, Building Hope

Building Hope, a national, non-profit, charter school facility financing organization is seeking a Communications Manager to support the expansion of quality charter schools. This professional will support the efforts of Building Hope to promote its services and will also support select charter schools to assist them in the promotion of their schools.

The Communications Manager will have a diverse set of responsibilities. The candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and overseeing implementation of Building Hope's overall communications strategy. The candidate will also work with Building Hope's clients, principally new start-up charter schools, to develop and implement their respective communications strategy. 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Manage all Building Hope communications tools (website, social media, newsletters, press releases, annual report, investor documents, and print materials)
  • Manage constituent contacts/distribution lists
  • Manage the planning and execution of Building Hope stakeholder meetings and special events
  • Work with leadership to cultivate relationships with multiple stakeholders (e.g. school leaders, policy makers, local and national media outlets, investors, etc.)
  • Develop and refine talking points for staff, Board and other stakeholders regarding key Building Hope initiatives in the education reform and social impact sector
  • Develop and execute communications and marketing strategies for new schools, particularly in relation to strengthening market position in communities served and growing enrollment base

·         Drive local and national perception of Building Hope through research reports and media monitoring

Required Qualifications:

At least 3 years of professional experience in marketing, public relations, communications or similar field

Demonstrate superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

Extensive writing and editing experience (externally focused) with a variety of print and online communications media

Conscientiousness and extraordinary attention to detail

Demonstrate a high degree of independence and self-motivation in resolving problems, developing and implementing solutions

Demonstrated track record of success using multiple media channels; skill in media management and outreach, and extensive industry contacts

Excellent project management skills; proven ability to organize and prioritize work to meet tight, concurrent deadlines

Strong ability to think strategically and creatively, and to create messages and materials that strike the right tone on complex issues

A passion for closing the achievement gap in education

 

Preferred Qualifications:


Previous experience with website content management; understanding of email marketing systems preferred

Direct experience in education, social impact, or real estate and finance preferred


 

The Manager of Communications position is open and may begin immediately. Salary will be commensurate with experience and past results. Employee benefits include medical, dental, participation in 401k, and a paid time-off package.
