Early Childhood Academy PCS (ECA) is a small, public charter school in Ward 8 of southeast Washington, DC. Founded in 2005, ECA implements a strong language and literacy-based early childhood program for students in prekindergarten through grade three.
ECA is currently seeking full-time second and third grade teachers for the 2013-2014 school year. Applicants must have passing Praxis scores and a bachelor's degree or higher in elementary or early childhood education OR a bachelor's degree and at least two years' experience teaching elementary-aged students.
Candidates must demonstrate ability to effectively implement a reading program for on-level and struggling readers. Applicants must demonstrate ability to plan and implement instructional strategies that ensure student mastery of standards and support higher level thinking.
Candidates must complete a telephone screening before participating in an in-person interview and conducting a demonstration lesson.
