[dcab-l] Stolen 1962 Vega

FYI
STOLEN & RESOLD!!! 1962 Vega 5-String Banjo
Stolen from a home in Martinsburg, WV. on or about July 24th and taken
to a local Pawnshop there, where it was resold!!! This Banjo was
originally an open-back Vega Model FW-5 witn a 1989 Resonator conversion
by Paul Beard. Distinguishing marks are: 1).An aftermarket Resonator
Flange with extra pre-drilled tension lug holes due to lug spacing which
does not match. 2). Brand new Head. 3). Roughly repainted area on the
Headstock. 4). Original Rim Rods Repaced with "All Thread." 5). End Bolt
Lug (with accomodates Tailpiece Bolt), has been filed down some and
re-drilled. 6). Resonator Binding was coming lose near tail area and
temporarily secured with Scoth Tape. This Banjo was resold nearly 2
weeks or so after the July 24th Pawn date & could be owned by someone in
the Martinsburg. WV. or surrounding area. This will inconvenience the
one who purchased it, but this WAS STOLEN merchandise, and hopefully
someone's honesty will be returning it.
If see please contact me, (or urge them to contact me).
