Opportunities in the White House Office of Management and Budget's Office of Communications and Strategic Planning

 

The White House Office of Management and Budget's Office of Communications and Strategic Planning is pleased to offer opportunities for qualified applicants to join its team.  Presidential Management Fellows (PMFs) and other government employees may apply to work as a detailee, and unpaid internships are offered for undergraduate and graduate students.


Responsibilities:

·         Contribute to the formulation, editing and publication of the President's Budget and related materials;

·         Facilitate the roll-out of government-wide policy initiatives;

·         Assist with interviews and press conferences;

·         Edit and issue blog posts and releases on a variety of topics;

·         Assist with organizing and responding to media inquiries;

·         Monitor and distribute news clips;

·         Help maintain social media accounts; and

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: Qualified candidates should have a strong interest in communications, journalism, public policy and government, and should have demonstrated experience excelling in these fields. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Ability to handle multiple tasks and to work under pressure is also necessary.

 

Academic Credit: Details from other government agencies and offices are non-reimbursable.  Internships are only offered as student work-study programs and are not for compensation. Students accepted for an internship may earn academic credit while working in our office. Information on academic credit programs can be obtained from school placement offices. 

 

Requirements: Applicants must be United States citizens. Please note that participation is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and drug testing.
