You folks definitely deserve props for maintaining a regular schedule of shows. Admittedly, I've never been to either of yours before, but is clearly something I need to do something about. Ive been to a number of them hosted by Regina and Jim, and all were great. 

Good gigs are so hard to come by, and as Sully says, people come to listen. Maybe the house venues are where its at. I've never really focused on them before.

So let me see... 75 people in a bar if you are lucky (only half are listening to you) , 3-4 hours of playing (getting home around 2 am), and making $300-$350.

On the other hand... 30-40 people at a house concert, two sets, all listening, usually taking home around $400-$500.  What am I missing?

For the host, putting on a house concert is hard work and we do it to support the music.  Many are potluck/jams... you know like a party...
