Re: [dcab-l] Please, humor me...

Those are difficult numbers to come up with. So many bands came and
went. but there were a number of 'local' groups that made the DC
'circuit'....
Seldom Scene, Country Gents - of course.
but then you had: New River Express, None Of The Above, D&D Review,
Stars And Bars, Kinfolk, Blue Daze, Outerbanks, Winterwood, Local
Tomatoes. I am sure I have left off some (I've forgotten).... Proximity
played a roll too. Folks would go to clubs not too far from home. Then
like Tim said, the drunk-driving laws knocked the crap out the bar scene
for bands. People would come to listen but were afraid to have a drink
or two, so the bars were not making any money so could not afford to pay
the bands (and PRO licenses, etc)....
