Sure am. A bit late to this chat, so I'm not sure if we're mostly discussing pros/cons of performing at houses or availability of houses to host concerts, but either way: Yes.

As far as hosting shows goes, I'm helping launch a house concert network in DC-proper that matches venues with players. We're not focusing on regional acts exclusively, but highlighting great music in the area is certainly a priority. To date, we don't have capacity to help organize outside the city, but I'm more than happy to try to help connect regional acts to DC-based homes. 

(We're growing this based on exactly the problems listed above — the reluctance of bars to consistently host great bluegrass players** and the diminishing effort vs rewards payoff for musicians...vs the demonstrated payoff of playing in homes. As a musician, I definitely prefer playing homes to more formal venues, again for all the reasons listed above!)

**SOVA on H St NE was one venue that was great at this...the Argonaut, right down the street, has adapted the vibe a bit and is worth a check-out. Bluegrass on Thursday nights, I think bi-monthly.
