[YEP-DC] Teachers: Become a Teaching Policy Fellow

Join the Teach Plus Washington, D.C. Teaching Policy Fellowship!

Teach Plus addresses the urgent need for effective, experienced teachers in urban classrooms by expanding the concept of teacher leadership. The Teach Plus Teaching Policy Fellowship is a selective 18-month Fellowship that engages highly effective, early-career teachers in work on issues related to the future of the teaching profession. Teaching Policy Fellows are classroom teachers who meet monthly to interact directly with education policy leaders and research experts; analyze education reform initiatives; study innovative practices; and advocate for reforms that would better retain great teachers like themselves in the profession. Fellows receive a $2,400 stipend.

Teach plus is currently accepting applications for the 2014-15 cohort of Teaching Policy Fellows. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Have a track record of success teaching students in a public or charter school that serve at least 50% of students who qualify for free and reduced price lunch 
  • Be a current classroom teacher with 2 to 10  years of teaching experience

The early action deadline to apply is midnight on Sunday, April 27th. The Fellowship will begin in September 2014.
