Position: Senior Program Director

 

Organization Overview

One World Education (OWEd) is a nonprofit leader providing middle and high school Common Core literacy programs and publishing student essays about cultural and global issues. Since 2007, the organization has been promoting peer-to-peer learning and helping students build the skills necessary for college and career level writing.

 

Position Summary

The Program Director leads and oversees all aspects of OWEd’s programming, including its curriculum and resource development, teacher training, school and organizational partnerships, and communication.

 

Program Growth

Program Development

·   Present programming to school and organizational leaders

·   Establish partnerships / contracts with school networks

·   Form partnerships with education organizations to leverage exposure and audience

·   Promote organization’s expertise through publishing and social media

·   Establish relationships with school leaders

·   Oversee School Facilitators

·   Develop and lead professional development

·   Facilitate evaluation initiatives and reporting

·   Establish systematic communication with program community through newsletters, updates, and blog postings

 

·   Develop or oversee development of new curriculum and program resources

·   Ensure timely posting of new One World Units on website

·   Ensure evaluation results guide curricula work

·   Manage development of Program Portal

 

Qualifications

        Former or current part-time educator

        Curriculum development / professional development experience

 

Requirements

        Available to work 20-25 hours per week (Tue-Thu) in OWEd’s Columbia Heights office.

        Access to personal laptop computer for use in and out of office.

        Strong written and oral communication skills.

        Excellent time management and organizational skills.

 

Compensation: 25K-30K
