[YEP-DC] Professional Development

Dear Middle School Teachers,

DC has been approached with an exciting opportunity for School Year 2014-2015.  JASON is a nationally acclaimed, exploration-based K-12 STEM program that links students to real science through technology intensive, inquiry-based curricula. JASON's suite of STEM modules places students in challenging, real-world situations where they connect with fascinating scientists. JASON involves students in hands-on labs and assignments that complement descriptions, vocabulary, and the standards on which students are tested for earth, physical and life science topics.

We are having a training this Saturday, May 3rd at George Washington University to determine if this Common Core aligned program will benefit our students and useful tool for educators to have in the coming year.  We recognize this is very short notice, however would love to have feedback around this program and we want to  offer as many useful resources to educators around NGSS implementation for the coming year.

We have slots open for 10 teachers to join the training from 9am-3:30pm.  We will be awarding 8 PLU's for participation in the PD, and participating teachers will receive FREE access to the online resources for use with their students.

Please read the flyer and if interested please RSVP, with Abreyon Moses  (abreyon.moses@dc.gov) our awesome OSSE POC!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!  I look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks.
