[dcab-l] Mountain Music Trail in WV

There's a new project in the Eastern highlands of West Virginia who "promote, present, and sustain opportunities for engagement in the authentic mountain music traditions of West Virginia".

The Mountain Music Trail is a diverse group of musicians, venues, instrument-makers, radio stations, tourism professionals and others "who are dedicated to:

Promoting and presenting the traditional music, dance, and folkways of the Allegheny Mountain region;
Promoting cultural tourism and sustainable economic development near the Highway 219 corridor in Monroe, Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Randolph and Tucker counties; and
Sharing a cultural experience that brings together visitors and residents alike, to enjoy and participate in traditional mountain folkways."

The trail starts in Tucker County, WV, just 2 and a half hours from DC. Every week they have a ton of traditional old-time, bluegrass, folk, and Americana shows, square dances, workshops, and more. Check out their website (www.mountainmusictrail.com) and calendar, or give 'em a 'Like' on Facebook or follow them on Twitter to stay up-to-date on all the great traditional music happening in the area!
