Re: [dcab-l] Jimmy Dean & BG in DC

The Jimmy Dean Band resided at the corner of Park Rd and 18th St in the 50's
(one block from Lamont). About half a block down Park from where Charlie
Waller grew up. The marker you refer to is part of the historic Mt Pleasant
trail and both bands are pictured on that marker. A friend of mine had given
me a copy of that pic and I provided it to Historic DC. I attached it here.
The pic comes from a shot taken at Eig's (yes as in Sam Eig Hwy) liquor
downtown as part of a grand opening celebration at that store in 1952. Chris
Hall identified all the members of the band for me one day but I can't seem
to locate that list someplace in my files .
