[YEP-DC] DC Public Schools is Hiring Master Educators

District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) is the public school district in Washington, D.C. DCPS serves 45,000 students through the efforts of approximately 4,000 educators in 123 schools. As part of a comprehensive reform effort to become the preeminent urban school system in America, DCPS intends to have the highest-performing, best paid, most satisfied, and most honored educator force in the nation and a distinctive central office staff whose work supports and drives instructional excellence and significant achievement gains for DCPS students.

The Master Educator Program is one component of this commitment. The Master Educator Program includes approximately 45 content-area experts. Master Educators have four primary responsibilities: 1) to serve as impartial evaluators of teacher performance, 2) to provide teachers with targeted, content-specific feedback and resources based on their evaluations, 3) to provide one-on-one coaching to select teachers to improve instructional practice, and 4) to provide instructional capacity support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• At least five (5) years of teaching experience in a low-income school.
• Track record of success increasing student achievement in a low-income school.
• Track record of success providing support and training to other educators.
