Are our nation's 12th graders making progress in mathematics and reading?
Find out when results from The Nation's Report Card: 2013 Mathematics and Reading, Grade 12 are released May 7, 2014, at 10 a.m. EDT at Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C.Join the National Assessment Governing Board to learn how 12th graders nationwide and in 13 pilot states performed in mathematics and reading—subjects critical to success in their pursuits following high school—on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).
Results will also be given by race, ethnicity, and gender, and include such contextual factors as students' opinions about each subject and the courses they take. Panelists also will discuss:
- Are Students Making Progress? Explore achievement gaps between student groups compared with earlier assessments.
- How Are Students in Pilot States Performing? Examine achievement in each of 13 states compared with the nation as a whole.
- What Level of Knowledge and Skills Do Students Have? Find out how many students are reaching the NAEP Proficient level, and see sample test questions.
