[YEP-DC] Job Posting: Lead Pre-K Teacher Position in Petworth

The Petworth Coop, an independent cooperative serving children two to five years old, seeks an energetic, experienced teacher with strong classroom management skills, committed to the value of learning through play and the infinite possibilities that play lends to children's development. 

Position begins August 30. Part-time with core classroom hours of 9:00am -- 12:00pm, Monday-Friday through the school year. Employment in our summer camp is also available, but not obligatory to be considered for the position. Our school generally tracks DCPS calendar. 

We offer competitive salary, paid sick leave, paid planning time, and a great opportunity to craft and lead your own classroom with virtually NO bureaucracy. We expect candidates to be well-prepared as teachers of young children and to share a vision for the rich potential of childhood.

Candidates must have experience working with young children in a classroom setting, in addition to the following educational qualifications: BA in early childhood ed. or related field, OR CDA plus lead teaching experience, OR 2 years of college (to include 15 sem. hrs of child develop. or ECE coursework) plus teaching experience. Background check required.
