A neighbor contacted me today to ask about fire hydrants - I think there was some uneasiness after reading about the fire on Second Street (a couple of years ago) in Scott's email this morning.
If you go to DC Water's site, there is a lot of information, and if you go to the locations page, you can use google earth to find the hydrants near you and check the last inspection date. You can also call and ask, but using google earth was such fun.
The one at my corner was inspected July 22. All of the ones I clicked on had been inspected July 22 or July 29.
