Please send this great opportunity out to the listserve.
Thanks!
Teach Plus D.C. will select six teachers to become Core Leaders to facilitate a professional learning series for teachers throughout the 2013-2014 school year. This series will offer teachers the opportunity to join in collaboration in understanding the Common Core State Standards and how to best implement them in the classroom so their students are successful. This series is a continuation of our May 11, 2012 conference where teachers expressed an interest in meaningful and continuous professional learning that reaches across schools and is led by themselves and their peers.
The transition to Common Core State Standards marks an important step on the path to ensure students in Washington, D.C., and across the nation, develop the academic excellence and critical-thinking skills that are necessary to achieve college and career readiness and compete in the global marketplace. Educators selected as Core Leaders will play an integral part in this process and help lead the transition to the Common core State Standards.
