Overview of Position
Field staff will have the opportunity to conduct primary data collection and data entry for a program evaluation of early childhood classrooms in DC alongside Child Trends staff. Twenty applicants will be selected to join our data collection efforts for one year.

- Duration: September through May
- Intensity: 15-20 hours per week
- Location: Child Trends' office in Bethesda, MD and Title I public schools in DC
- Pay: $15/hour
Job Specifications
- Become reliable on three classroom observational measures.
- Become reliable on a child assessment battery for children ages 3-5.
- Travel to schools around DC to speak with parents and teachers about the project, collect consents, conduct child assessments, and observe classrooms.
- Travel to Child Trends' office for meetings and material pick-up and drop-off.
- Enter, clean, and code qualitative and quantitative data.
- Assist with clerical tasks or other duties as assigned by the project manager.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children in an early childhood setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills, flexibility, and punctuality
- B.A. degree plus some coursework in early care and education is preferred
- Experience with primary data collection preferred
- A commitment of at least three mornings a week during winter and spring fielding months
- Spanish language skills strongly preferred
- Proof of certification on the CLASS Pre-K strongly preferred
