13th Annual Nothin' Fancy Bluegrass Festival September 26, 27, 28, 2013! |
We're looking forward to our *thirteenth* Annual Nothin' Fancy Bluegrass Festival this September! Held as usual at Glen Maury Park in scenic Buena Vista, Virginia, this year's festival promises to be a big time and a lot of fun. Here's what you should know: Here's the Festival Page, and the Festival Flyer. If you're using your GPS or GoogleMaps to get here, use 10 Glen Maury Park Road, Buena Vista VA 24416. In order to make ticket or camping reservations, you can either do it online here or email Robyn Wines at robyn@nothinfancybluegrass.com. You can also call her at (540) 461-0954. Yes, we have online purchasing set up for this year, and yes that is new! We still take money the old fashioned way too, though, to 33 Lois Lane, Roanoke VA 24019. Make sure to include the order form so we know who you are. NEW for this year! Glen Maury Park has given us access to the upper campground hookups this year. We'll be running a shuttle prior to the festival start times, at the dinner break, and at the end of the festival each day. There is a charity golf tournament on Wednesday, September 25 before the festival starts in earnest! This year, we'll be raising money to improve the Glen Maury Park. Cost this year is $50 per person, or $200 per team of four. To register your team (or just yourself and get paired with others), contact Vista Links at 540-261-4563! Several people have asked about the chair policy for this year's festival. Well, here it is. The pavilion opens at 8:00AM on Wednesday, September 25. Chairs can be set up then or at any time afterwards. Anything set up prior to 8:00AM on Wednesday will be removed. Limit four chairs per person - no high-backed, lounge, or chairs with attachments. The Flyer has all the bands and their approximate showtimes, but here's a condensed version: Thursday: The Stevens Family, The Moron Brothers, Darrell Webb Band, James King Band, Nothin' Fancy Friday: Republik Steele, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, The Lost & Found, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Nothin' Fancy Saturday: The Bluegrass Brothers, The Travelers, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Nothin' Fancy Finally, here are some links that should aid you in planning your trip: Urbanspoon local restaurant reviews for Buena Vista and Lexington, Virginia. Lots of super vendors will be at the festival, too! |
