Bloomingdale Community Members:
I am writing to update residents on the work Comcast has been doing to improve our physical plant in your community. As you are aware, Comcast technicians began working to replace and fix our aerial drops in the Bloomingdale community since mid-May. The aerial drops are the wires that connect to your home from the telephone poles and transmit video, internet and telephone services as appropriate. To date, Comcast has inspected close to 550 utility poles, cleaned up, relocated and replaced more than 300 aerial drops. While Comcast does not own any poles in the District, we have kept track of our work by pole numbers, if numbers were available, and we have provided that information to residents who have requested a listing of our work by pole numbers. Of course, there have been times when a resident requested that we perform clean-up work on wires that did not belong to Comcast. In those instances, we referred the resident to the appropriate utility. In addition, there has been numerous times in which we took advantage of having our technicians on site to address residents' individual service related issues.
I hope you will agree that we have made a lot of progress. We have heard from many of you directly that you have been satisfied with the work we have performed. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the community for responding to our door hangars and emails and for calling us to schedule appointments and providing access to your backyards when necessary to perform this work.
Please know that our technicians will continue to review our work to ensure we did not overlook any pole, aerial lines or "drop" that requires attention as we remain committed to our customers and to the Bloomingdale community. If you see Comcast aerial lines that may need work or have a specific service request related to this project, please don't hesitate to contact the site supervisor Tyrone Duckett at (240)882-7104.
If you have additional questions concerns or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at (202)625-5526. Thank you.
