[YEP-DC] Digital Learning Day February 5, 2014

DIGITAL LEARNING DAY

February 5, 2014

Student Debates

As part of Digital Learning Day, we will host a series of student debates moderated by experts in the digital space.

In a live video broadcast over Google+ Hangouts on Air, each debate will pose a specific question to students and be moderated by a key expert in the pertaining subject (hopefully you!). Additionally, after the formalized debate session, classrooms that are debating and/or those watching the live stream can participate in a live Q&A with the moderators, all of whom are leading their industries and shaping the future of technology’s role in our day to day lives.

We invite YOU to join in on the action and debate these engaging topics with students around the world… all without leaving your own classroom! Please fill out our short form to indicate your interest in the debates: http://goo.gl/QCEQXr

Topics & Questions:

Coding Literacy: Should students be required to learn code (and computer science) in high school?

Breaking News: Can news outlets like CNN, NYTimes, PBS, BBC keep up with "breaking news," or should we instead turn to social media for up-to-the-minute coverage?

Digital Footprint: Should colleges be allowed to take your 'digital footprint' (social media presence, Google results, etc.) into consideration when making their admissions decisions?

Debate times will be finalized early next week!

Please contact Syritha Robinson at srobinson@all4ed.org for more information.
