Job Responsibilities
The Youth Development Counselor will take on a range of activities, including:
- Helping students to establish consistent behavioral standards throughout the day
- Supervising student daily break periods and evening activities; especially in halls
- Participating in frontline discipline issues throughout the day and serve as lead disciplinarian during evening hours
- Facilitating peer mediation
- Working with others to manage detention during mid-day and/or evening hours
- Serving on school climate and disciplinary committees
- Participating in discipline and counseling meetings
- Communicating and working well with colleagues, students, parents, and others to share effective strategies, build meaningful relationships, celebrate achievements, and address critical needs
- Engaging in collaborative efforts with teaching faculty to help students develop healthy social and emotional outlooks that will help them succeed in class and beyond
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience working with urban teens
- A desire to help students proactively address a variety of emotional deficits that make it difficult for them to form trusting, lasting, relationships with adults and others
- A belief that all students can succeed, particularly those who have not been successful in their past school environments
- Willingness to work beyond the traditional school hours and the traditional school year in order to create an environment filled with hope and high expectations, where students will radically improve their academic, employment, and social skills
- Prior experience efficiently working in MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel
- A bachelor's degree is preferred; candidates who are on track to become classroom teachers, counselors, or work in alternative education are strongly preferred

Finance Manager
The See Forever Foundation in Washington D.C. is seeking a Finance Manager to join its operations team. The Foundation operates the Maya Angelou Public Charter Schools and Maya Angelou Academy, a nationally recognized network of schools in the DC area.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Manager is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and other mission-critical services for the organization.
The Finance Manager's responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day finance and accounting processes of both organizations;
- Maintaining meticulous financial records in Navision, our current accounting software, and advising on its improvement, upgrade, and/or replacement;
- Maintaining and improving internal controls and financial procedures, ensuring high-quality financial management and legal/regulatory compliance;
- Managing the audit and providing timely records and reports as needed to many key stakeholders, including city agencies, financial institutions, and private funders;
- Serving as a responsible financial official for the organization, along with senior leadership, to exercise thoughtful stewardship of public and private resources;
- Assisting the Chief Operating Officer, HR Manager, and other staff with human resources administration, including payroll and employee benefits;
- Working closely with the organization's senior leadership and department heads to build and track organizational, program, and school budgets;
- Preparing required state, local, and federal filings throughout the year;
- Serving as the liaison to many third-party vendor services;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates should have:
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in finance or accounting;
- At least three years of finance/accounting experience, preferably including some audit experience, and familiarity with Navision (or similar accounting software), bookkeeping, and accounts payable/receivable;
- Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred, especially experience with charter schools and/or federal grants (though experience with schools is not required);
- Excellent computational and financial skills, preferably including experience with multimillion dollar budgets;
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people, from interns to senior executives;
- Commitment to improving one's skills, working independently/self-sufficiently, and exercising ownership of the finance function;
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office, including significant prowess with Excel;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Extreme, even legendary, attention to detail;
- Comfort with working in a fast-paced, non-profit environment; and
- Desire to serve and work with diverse populations, especially urban youth.
In addition, candidates should possess an unyielding belief that with the appropriate supports, coupled with high expectations, all students can significantly improve their academic and workforce skills, and can develop pro-social and culturally normative behaviors that will enable them to succeed in the workplace, post-secondary education, and beyond.

Salary and Benefits
Salary range is $50-70K based on experience and education. See Forever offers a robust benefits plan, including health care and dental coverage and a 403(b) retirement savings plan.
