Hello all, I wanted to pass on the following information:
The GCE-US Youth Advocacy Training is a biannual training program that not only equips students and young professionals with information about education for all but also trains them in ways to tell others.
During the training, participants work with and learn from our coalition members about how to advocate for equal access to a quality education worldwide. In addition to an in-depth look at international education issues, policies, and actors, advocates participate in skills training in: grassroots and grasstops organizing, event planning, fundraising, media training, storytelling, and more.
The Spring 2014 advocacy training will take place April 4-8, 2014. Travel (to and from D.C.), meals and lodging will be covered.
To be considered for the training, you must be 18-25 at the time of the training, permanently reside in the U.S., be able to attend the entire training (April 4-8, 2014), complete the application and submit a letter of recommendation from a person who can speak to your involvement on your campus or in your community. This is a competitive scholarship opportunity and submission of a completed application does not ensure participation.
