[YEP-DC] YEP-DC Opportunity: Contribute to YEP-DC's Blog Feature

YEP-DC is soliciting contributors for Field Day, its roundtable blog feature, to respond to the topic of how Common Core is playing out in the classroom.  Do you have experience with CCSS curriculum and/or teaching?  We want to enable you to share your point of view (in 300 words or less).  Please read the question below, and if you're interested in responding, reach out to Jeremy Meredith, editor of Field Day at jermeredith@gmail.com by February 1.

The Core is a reality right now for teachers in Maryland and DC, while Virginia is one of six states to omit the standards from their state education approach. From your point of view and experience, how is CCSS changing teaching methods in the classroom?  Are these changes increasing student understanding or presenting obstacles?  For example, tell us what's changed in your pedagogical approach, and how your students are reacting to the shift.
