North Carolina New Schools is a public-private catalyst for K-12 education innovation. Launched in 2003 with initial support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the mission of North Carolina New Schools is to accelerate systemic, sustainable innovation in schools across the state and have every student in NC graduate ready for college, careers and life.
As the organization looks to their next decade of success and growth, they are ready to invest in a new development position to support their continued growth and impact for on student success. We are looking for a mission driven professional with experience in grant development at the federal and national foundation levels to be based out of D.C., or the surrounding area. This person should be a successful fund developer and cultivator of strong relationships on behalf of the organization while designing projects that meet the goals of funders and NCNS.
Ideally, this person will likely have an entrepreneurial spirit that is supportive and effective throughout a changing environment. We are looking for candidates that will be results driven with experience in and exposure to research and writing in the field of public education in order to be successful in attracting potential funds for the organization.
