CALL FOR MENTORS for THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN LEADERS
Become a mentor for a college woman today! Register Here
The Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) is the only national organization whose sole focus is preparing college women for public leadership. Each year, PLEN brings women students from colleges and universities across the country to Washington, D.C. for a weekend, week, or an entire summer to experience first-hand how public policy is shaped and implemented at the national level. Students meet with and learn from women leaders making and influencing public policy at the highest levels in the Congress, courts, federal agencies, corporate sector, policy research and advocacy organizations and the news media.
To fulfill our mission of preparing the next generation of women for public leadership, we seek to establish ongoing professional development for our alumnae throughout their career path. We invite you to become a mentor to a woman interested in pursuing a career in public leadership. Most of the mentees will be women currently in college, but many of them may also be young professionals. People of all genders are able to be mentors. You do not need to be in Washington, D.C. or directly work in public policy to participate.
Mentors commit to one informational interview and one resume review initially, with the hope that a mentoring relationship will develop from there.
