[YEP-DC] Fall Internships Available: Center City Public Charter Schools

Fall Central Office Academic Team Intern, Center City Public Charter Schools

$2500, October 1st – December 21st

20 hours/week, schedule negotiable based on academic schedule

Potential for winter and spring internship, based on performance

Passion/background in education preferred

-          Professional Development and Assessment Intern: Reports to the Director of Professional Development and Assessments

o   Assessment and Online Intervention/Resources Management

§  Coordinating completion, tracking use, maintaining rosters and user access, analyzing data, inventorying materials

o   Professional Development

§  Researching topics, analyzing surveys, needs assessments, event planning

o   Professional development is one of the most critical levers for improving student achievement by enhancing teaching and learning. This internship is a perfect fit for someone who is a detail-oriented, systems thinker and believes in continuous improvement for all learners.

-          District-Wide Events Intern: Reports to the Director of Academic Support for Student Enrichment

o   8 District-wide Events

§   Hispanic Heritage Month Movie Night, Multiplication Around the World, Geography Bee, Spelling Bee, Black and Latino History Quiz Bowl, Science Fair, Math League Contests, and 8th Grade Promotion Luncheon.

o   The intern will coordinate and execute the events at the district-level and manage our 6 campuses and their event coordinators to properly execute their campus events.

o   These events allow our students to demonstrate their knowledge and explore their academic passions! This internship is a perfect fit for someone who believes in the education of the whole child and enjoys event planning.

-          Literacy Project Intern: Reports to the Director of Academic Support for Student Enrichment and the Director of Professional Development and Assessments

o   Codify and create tools to monitor implementation of reading, writing, and language arts initiatives.

o   Help to define curriculum goals, develop instructional resources, write exemplar lessons and activities, and create trackers that will help students aim towards success and develop a love of reading and writing.

o   This internship is a perfect fit for someone who is looking to improve and enhance a middle school reading, writing, and language arts instructional program, incorporating Common Core State Standards and differentiating to meet the needs of all learners.
