The Future Project is building a national corps of volunteers to reignite the education system by empowering one high school student to make bold, disruptive change in their school and inspire young people everywhere to put their dreams in action.
In October, volunteer Future Coaches in New York City, New Haven, and Washington DC are partnered with a high school Future Fellow. They meet four times a month after school or on weekends, and over the course of a school year, identify the student's passion and turn it into a project that shakes up their school. Think of a Fashion and Talent Extravaganza, a first-ever student newspaper, an international Female Genital Mutilation Conference, or a basketball tournament to end youth violence. Coaches are supported by a full-time Dream Director who is placed at the school to champion the values of The Future Project and work with the Principal to make school-wide change.
Coaches join a growing movement of young innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who believe that school can be so much more, and who want to do something about it.
