Yes we still do - not always a formal slow jam, but we "Keep it Simple" for the first hour or so in one of the circles - usually the starter one.

I think this is the idea behind the "slow jam" at the CABOMA jams in Arlington.  But I haven't been out to CABOMA for a couple years, so I don't know if they still do this.  Does anyone else know?  They had a board member or other volunteer "run" the "slow jam" to help out newbies the hour or two before the regular jam would start.
