The Afterschool Educator will work with the Director of Afterschool Programs to develop and implement afterschool programming, assisting in the development of unique curriculum, at times working independently. This will include preparing materials for lessons and activities, as well as working independently to teach the lessons in a manner consistent with the vision and mission of the program.
We are seeking candidates that have a passion and interest in middle school education, youth development, program development and design, and who are able to work in the outdoors as well as in a classroom. Candidates must have a passion for the outdoors, and be able to share and encourage that passion with CKWP youth. Candidates should have experience with several of the following activities: hiking, backpacking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, trip planning, trip leading, and other outdoor activities. The Afterschool Educator may also assist in building partnerships with schools and local organizations to recruit new students for the program.
This candidate must be available during after school program hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 7:30pm and on occasional weekends for day or overnight trips. Additional hours may be available based on candidate interest and organizational need.
The Office Manager is a key support staff for program operations. The position involves considerable independent work as well as working as an effective member of a team. Primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting with financial operations including processing purchase orders and bills, entering expenses into QuickBooks, assisting with monthly financial reconciliations
- Parent, student, volunteer, community, donor, and board communications (including phone calls, letters, emails, newsletters, board meeting packets, etc.)
- Student information tracking including file management and entering data into our database
- Maintaining inventory of office supplies and placing orders as necessary
- Program support including assisting program staff in program planning, preparation and follow up
- General office support including managing mailings, helping student interns on office projects, and other duties as assigned by the Director and Program Directors
