2012 ACE Research Fellows Internship Program
The American Council on Education (ACE) Research Fellows is an internship program designed to provide graduate students a 'real-world' policy research and analysis experience within a leading Washington, DC higher education association. ACE Research Fellows will have a unique opportunity to work with national experts and explore a wide array of topics such as federal higher education policy, internationalization and globalization of higher education, lifelong learning, and leadership development.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of Research Fellows will be to work with ACE staff to conceptualize, write, design, and produce research in support of ACE's various program and services. To enrich the internship experience Research Fellows will also be expected to occasionally attend external meetings and present findings from their ACE work.
Qualifications
Successful applicants will have the following skills and abilities:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program
- Basic knowledge of current issues in higher education
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High energy with the ability to multi-task (especially in balancing any academic course work with ACE responsibilities)
- Comfort working in a fast pace collaborative environment
Schedule, Duration, and Salary
The ACE Research Fellows internship will run approximately six to twelve months from the date of hire. Research Fellows will work 15 to 20 hours per week with the majority of work being done at the ACE offices during normal business hours. Research Fellows will be paid at a rate of $25 per hour.
