This Wednesday 9/12 at 6:30pm - BlackFinn (16th and I NW)
Hosted with Collaborate to Impact
C'mon! You know that every year, you sit back and watch with bated breathe as 8 year olds duke it out for the nerd-chic title of Scripps Spelling Bee National Champion. Secretly, you wish that was you up there, finger waving through the air, trying in vain to figure out how to spell "floccinaucinihilipilification" and not knowing if its Latin origin is helpful or not. Well, your chance to live (or re-live) the glory days is here.
Join us on Wednesday, September 12th at 6:30p at BlackFinn DC for a Grown-Up Spelling Bee, where every round you get "a little something to calm your nerves!" There will be prizes for the best spellers, of course.

About We, The Readers
We, The Readers is a movement dedicated to inspiring learning through literature. At the core of education is the ability to read, understand, and communicate. Our core conviction is that inside every struggling student in a curious mind waiting to be unleashed through the power of ideas found in the books we read. It's not enough to set that mind free - you've got to cultivate it, too. Re-read. Think. Discuss. Respond. This is the process of discovery.
We, The Readers is where that process comes alive.
We, The Readers began in 2011 with a vision to support student growth in the most important area of their education: reading. With a commitment to curating the best in student literature and recruiting mentors to guide students as they journey, we launched a small pilot program in Washington, D.C. This year, we are back at the same school and working with student to identify what makes them tick when it comes to reading. We've partnered with community members and local universities to create a unique reading experience that helps students to discover and share ideas that will shape the lives forever.
