The National Governors Association (NGA) is looking to fill a senior policy analyst position with someone who has experience in the education policy arena perhaps having worked in a state level policy analysis position or who has had some regional level policy exposure.
Senior Policy Analyst - Common Core State Standards, Related Assessments and STEM Initiatives
Job Description:
The NGA Center for Best Practices seeks an experienced, professional to join the Education Division as a senior policy analyst who will focus on issues related to states' efforts to support and implement the Common Core State Standards, related assessments and STEM initiatives. The Division provides information, research, policy analysis, technical assistance and modest financial support for governors and their staff in the areas of early childhood, K-12, and post secondary education. The Division is focused on key policy issues relevant to governors' efforts to develop and enact policy and support its implementation. The Division also works on policy issues related to bridging the system divides between the early childhood, K-12, post secondary and workforce systems. Team members often collaborate on issues that cut across the various systems including: teacher and leader effectiveness, Common Core, data systems, accountability and STEM.
The selected individual will be part of the NGA Center for Best Practices Education Division team. The team is focused on key policy issues relevant to governors' efforts to develop and enact policy and support its implementation.
