[YEP-DC] Volunteer Opportunity: Chavez Schools is looking for Judge's for its Annual Drug Trafficking Summit!!

WHO: Community volunteers and 10th graders at Chavez Schools

WHAT: The Drug Trafficking Summit is an opportunity for students to share their ideas as to how to resolve the drug trade along the US-Mexico border, giving special attention to the power and sovereignty of these two countries.

WHEN: Thursday, May 29th, 8:30am-12:30pm

WHERE: UDC Law School, 4200 Connecticut Ave, NW (walking distance from the Van Ness metro on the red line)

HOW:  Please arrive at 8:30am for a Judge's training.  When you enter the building, please take the elevator to the 5th floor.  After the training, you will be able to listen to our opening speaker with the students before going to your assigned room to listen to student presentations.  Each room will hear approximately 5-6 groups, evaluate those groups along a rubric, and ask follow-up questions to further test students' knowledge and ideas.  Once all presentations are completed, then you're welcome to participate in our closing awards ceremony, but it's not required.

We encourage you to invite your friends and colleagues to join us, as we're still looking for volunteers!  Please ask them to register online or email me directly (stephanie.remick@chavezschools.org).
