Description | Community of Teachers is looking for tutors who are dedicated to instilling confidence, increasing specific skills, and making learning an exciting, life-long journey for students throughout the Washington, DC region. We provide focused, individualized one-on-one interventions for elementary and middle school students. Join our team and make a difference in the lives of DC youth.
What We Are Looking For | We are seeking to build our team of tutors with professionals who are committed to building lasting relationships with their students. We will prioritize candidates who:
· *Emphasize the importance of empowering students and strengthening their sense of self-confidence
· *Are able to use a student's intrinsic motivation to help them succeed
· *Can relate to their students and adapt to different learning styles
· *Are passionate about teaching, learning, and growing as educational leaders
Qualifications
· *Bachelor's degree in Education, or related field; Master's degree preferred
· *Minimum 3 years experience teaching in the classroom and/or providing out-of-school-time interventions
· *Ability to tutor between the hours of 3pm – 8pm (with flexibility during summer months)
· *Access to a car (travel is not reimbursable)
· *Successfully pass a background check
Compensation | This is a part-time, hourly position. Starting rate is between $25-$35/hr, with opportunity for growth.
