[YEP-DC] Community Event: Proposed Special Education Legislation

Greetings:

I write to invite you to some upcoming community events that Advocates for Justice and Education (AJE) will be holding jointly with the District of Columbia Council's Committee on Education.

Earlier this spring, the Committee on Education introduced three bills to address the needs of children with disabilities in the District of Columbia: the Special Education Student Rights Act, the Enhanced Special Education Services Act, and the Special Education Quality Improvement Act. 

Join AJE and the Committee on Education at one of our upcoming Information Sessions to learn about the proposed special education legislation and what impact the legislation will have on students and families in the District. 

Have your voices heard!  Join us also for a Writing Workshop where AJE's staff attorneys and educational support specialists will be there to provide advice and assistance to parents, educators and community members interested in testifying at the public hearing on the legislation and/or submitting written feedback to the Committee about the bills.
