Education Program Director, Research and Practice


 

Position Summary

Responsibilities

As the full-time Director, you will work closely with the organization's Education Team, as well as with other members of Hope Street Group's staff.

 

Responsibilities

  • Designs and leads education research projects tied to the Education Program's national and state work
  • Leads Teacher Fellows Program data collection:
    • Leads all Teacher Fellows Program report writing and policy brief writing
    • Leads survey item construction for all data collections
    • Designs qualitative data collections for Teacher Fellows Programs
    • Conducts qualitative and quantitative data analysis for Teacher Fellows Programs
  • Provides technical assistance to State Education Associations and other HSG partners on linking the research and data to policy development and implementation
  • Leads HSG Playbook enhancement and management
  • Supports Policy and Partnership Director with Transforming Professional Learning scope of work
  • Supports Policy and Partnership Director with proposal development
  • Manages one to two research and data consultants
  • Manages Hawaii Harvard Strategic Data Project Fellow

 

Qualifications

·    BA in related field required; MPP or MPA preferred

·    Enthusiastic work ethic and willingness to undertake a range of duties

·    Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task, perform analysis, and meet deadlines

·    Strategic thinker and problem solver

·    Skilled planner and organizer

·    Excellent facilitation and communications skills

·    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, virtual, deadline-oriented, dynamic environment with multiple ongoing responsibilities and very high expectations for quality of work

·    Collaborative team player and great listener; eager to work with diverse groups of people

·    Passion for public service and Hope Street Group mission that will drive interest in, and commitment to, our collaborative public policy model

Work Environment

Hope Street Group is a virtual organization and we expect applicants to maintain their own physical workspaces. We conduct staff and contributor business from locations across the United States; however, it is preferable that this staff member be located in Washington, D.C.

Compensation and position duration

This is a full-time position. Hope Street Group offers a competitive salary based on experience, with vacation, sick days, health care, dental, and optional 403(b) plan included.
