[YEP-DC] Grant Reviewer Opportunity: DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation

The Trust Seeks Reviewers for the

FY15 DC YouthLink – Lead Agency Grant Competition

The Trust is seeking individuals to review proposals for the FY15 (October 1, 2014 – September 30, 2015) DC YouthLink Lead Agency Grant Competition. This is an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues in the fields of youth development and juvenile justice, to identify innovative juvenile justice reform programs, to learn more about the funding process, and to contribute your knowledge and experience in the selection of high-quality organizations that will support and monitor the delivery of services for court-involved youth throughout the District of Columbia.

DC YouthLink is a collaborative partnership between DYRS, the Trust and two local lead organizations (the “Lead Agencies”), which manage a network of local community-based organizations, known as the Service Coalition that provide direct-service options for court-involved youth. Together the partners are working to:

·         Advance the rehabilitation of DYRS youth by connecting them to services, supports and resources that help them succeed.

·         Enhance public safety by promoting DYRS youth’s rehabilitation through positive, developmentally appropriate structured activities and enhanced supervision.

·         Create safe, strong communities that support the youth who live there by investing in and building upon the strengths of local organizations.

The grant solicitation seeks to identify the two Lead Agencies that will work with local and national partners to continue to enhance the community re-entry process so that the needs of DYRS youth, their families and the communities to which they return are met.

Further information about this grant competition can be found on our website at www.cyitc.org.
