[YEP-DC] Paid Summer Associate Program


Internship Description:
Overview:

As the nation's first multi-campus charter school, Friendship Public Charter School has been producing college-ready students for over 15 years. From Preschool through 12th grade, Friendship invests in providing a rigorous academic curriculum that enables our children to excel as ethical, literate, and well-rounded leaders in a 21st century economy. We surpass our peers across the District in public education with a 91% graduation and college entrance rate. To this end, we also hold the quality, success, and development of our education professionals with paramount importance.

 

The Friendship PCS Summer Associate Program is a highly selective internship program designed to identify and cultivate our next generation of education professionals. Friendship is seeking exceptional undergraduate students from a range of academic disciplines who demonstrate the talent, skills, and values needed to positively impact the quality of urban education and lead our children to high levels of achievement.  

Responsibilities:

Below is a list of a few departments and additional information about work to which you might contribute.

 

Extended Learning Programs: Instructional

Summer Learning Academy (Summer School) Instruction

Special Requirements:  Current Juniors and Graduating Seniors with majors or career interests in Education ONLY  

 

Extended Learning Programs: Operations

Operations, Summer Enrichment programs, Focus group and Case Study Coordination, Early Childhood Accreditation work

 

Information Technology

Troubleshooting, System Updates, Operations, and Hardware and Network Solutions

Special Requirements: General knowledge of computer network characteristics, network operating system software, and network components (i.e.: network servers, switches, hubs, routers, bridges, cabling)        

       

Operations: Governance & Compliance

Charter Accreditation Activity Coordination & Implementation and Auditing

Qualifications:
  • 3.0 GPA (Minimum)
  • Undergraduate Students (Rising Freshmen Accepted)
  • Internship Dates: June 3rd- August 14th
  • Compensation: $3,000 (Stipend)
