Are you looking for an opportunity to serve your community in honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day? If so, join YEP-DC on Monday, January 20th. We will volunteer with youth from the Kid Power afterschool program to make and distribute lunches for people experiencing homelessness in the Chinatown, Mt. Vernon and Penn Quarter neighborhoods.
Before the project, we will meet at Panera Bread for check-in and optional breakfast. We will walk to the volunteer site together, which is located at 733 8th St NW, in the basement of the Calvary Baptist Church.
When: Monday, January 20, 2014
Meeting Time: Meet at 9:00 a.m.
Location: Panera Bread, 673 H St NW Washington, DC
Nearest Metro: Gallery Place-Chinatown (red/yellow/green lines)
Attire: Dress warm (we will be inside making lunches but will be outside to pass out lunches rain or shine)
Schedule:
9:00am-10:00am: Check-in, breakfast at Panera (not provided)
10:00 am-noon: Volunteer Project with Kid Power students
