We'll do our best to be ready this Saturday for the Stevens Family at Lucketts Elementary School, 14550 James Monroe Highway, Leesburg, VA. They have been with us before and I certainly second all you say about them. It will definitely be a "barn burner" of a concert since they will be sharing the stage with another great group, Springfield Exit.  This band features one of the best female vocalists in bluegrass, Linda Lay (bass and auto-harp),  Linda's husband David Lay (rhythm guitar), the incomparable former Johnson Mountain Boy, David McLaughlin (mandolin), and, if that's not enough, Sammy Shelor, five time IBMA Banjo Performer of the Year and leader of the Lonesome River Band, will play banjo. For directions and more, call 703-771-5281 or see luckettsbluegrass.org.

I just found out that my good friends the Stevens Family from Berkeley Springs West Virginia will be appearing at Lucketts on December 8th.   I first heard this wonderful band at the Sally Mountain BG Festival in Missouri last summer, where they appeared with Dailey & Vincent, Rhonda Vincent and Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers.  They blew everyone away with their fine picking and gorgeous vocal harmonies.  The genuine. down-home presentation of Bluegrass and Gospel music by J.W., Nancy, Luke, Ben, Sam and Sissy Stevens is guaranteed to warm your heart and lift your spirit.   And take it from me-- if you want to see one of the flat-out best bass players in Bluegrass, then go see and hear Sissy Stevens.   That gal can pick, slap and double-slap and she does it while she's clog-dancing!  And she sings like an angel.  Don't miss it friends! 

I recommend the folks over at Lucketts tape up the windows of the old school house 'cuz the Stevens Family could just blow 'em out!
