Its' goal is to foster leadership skills and behaviors in young people by helping them to identify and cultivate their talents, set goals, and make informed career choices. Founded in 2002, this Foundation endeavors to increase academic performance, decrease student drop-out rates, support more applicants to colleges and universities and increase self-esteem.Founder: Michael Walton is a World-Class Track Athlete with a heart for guiding young lives and a passion for community activism.MWF has partnered with the Friendship Colligate Academy (FCA) in Washington, D.C. to offer enrichment programs designed to impact the development of the over 1,200 students who are enrolled at the school. Of the programs offered at FCA the Male/Female Forum is a primary focus. This program takes place quarterly and involves over 40 life skills and college/career focused small group workshops. This program brings together organizations, role models and community leaders from the Washington D.C. area as well as other regions.Duties: As the MWF Site Director, you will be a critical team member in the production of two Male/Female Forums at the school. In this role, you will be a central figure in providing the student with exposure to positive role models while contributing to their overall life-success.The position requires the supervision of interns and serves as a liaison for between MWF and FCA. The Director assists with on-site program management and development, reports to the CEO regularly and provides weekly updates on the status of activities and operations of the partnership.Responsibilities include:· General correspondence and coordination with the FCA and event workshop presenters;· The need for strong organization skills;· Lead on event planning of two Male/Female Forums;· Maintaining a database of workshop presenters;· Ability to manage projects with competing deadlines· On-site support for programs.Requirements: Experience and/or Bachelor's degree in a field demonstrating interest in education, event planning or social justice.Work Schedule: The Site Director position requires an average time commitment of 8-10 hours per week. The Director is required to be on site for a full day (8 hours) during the two Male/Female Forums.Compensation: The Site Director will receive a stipend as compensation for services.Location: The Friendship Collegiate Academy is the only college preparatory high school in the distinguished networks of the Friendship Public Charter School system.
