Young Education Professionals-DC is excited to announce that we have two positions open on our leadership team - the Vice President of Development & Partnerships and the Membership Chair. As a volunteer-run organization, serving on the YEP-DC leadership team is a fantastic opportunity to have a meaningful impact in the DC education community. Specific responsibilities for this position include:
Time commitment: 20-30 hours per month (including monthly Executive Board meetings and attending 1-2 YEP-DC events per month)
Experience/Skills/Abilities:
Time commitment: 6-7 hours a month (including attending 1-2 YEP-DC events per month)
- Being an involved member of the YEP-DC Executive Board who is engaged in YEP-DC's central planning
- With VP of Finance & Operations, developing annual development strategy with a goal of ensuring YEP-DC's events are co-sponsored and/or under-written, as needed
- Researching potential funders and partners
- Seeking out funders and/or partners for general support and support of specific activities/events (e.g., grants, major gifts, in-kind donations)
- Cultivating and coordinating relationships with potential and existing funders and partners
- With VP of Communications & Marketing, identifying and creating relevant development materials (e.g., case statements, brochure(s), etc.)
- Organizing the annual membership fundraising drive
- Supporting the annual plan and annual survey process
- With President, organizing and leading YEP-DC's Advisory Council
- Overseeing Development Chair
Experience/Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with fundraising and donor relations
- Self-starter
- Outgoing personality
Membership Chair
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
- Assisting in convening a membership committee and meet regularly
- Selecting, training and managing YEP-DC "ambassadors" (i.e., members who circulate at YEP-DC events and engage potential and current members)
- Assisting in maintaining the membership materials (name tags, markers, tape, signs, other collateral) for YEP-DC events
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Membership
Experience/Skills/Abilities:
- Outgoing personality (willing to meet and greet new members)
- Detail oriented
- Project management experience
Time commitment: 6-7 hours a month (including attending 1-2 YEP-DC events per month)
