  Some mention on the morning shows - one said that the services had already been done. Manteo has been very good about protecting their "Adopted Son" from undue attention, although much was due him.
  My maternal grandfather was also from Mt. Airy and I suspect the families knew each other. In Papa's college days they called him "Country Johnson" - he could turn up the "corn-pone" when he wanted to have some fun...  just like Andy could. North Carolina has lost three of her finest sons in the past couple of months, I hope we are done for a while. They all had great talents to entertain us, but had a humility that endeared them to us, too.

I am kinda surprised that there has been little mention of the passing
of Andy Griffith - who through his TV show brought 'bluegrass' music to
millions. He brought on folks like Clarence and Roland White, Rodney and
Doug Dillard, Mitch Jayne, Dean Webb, Leroy Mack, and others.
